Mario Torchio | About Me

After practicing yoga, on and off, for about 8 years I decided to take a Yoga Teachers Training Class.  I completed my 200 hour yoga teachers training, in April 2009, with Michael Stein of Ashtanga Yoga of New Paltz.  I have been teaching yoga in New Paltz, Wallkill, Walker Valley, Rosendale, and Stone Ridge since completing my training.

I have put together a gentle vinyasa flow yoga class, based on the principles of hatha yoga, that is suitable for people who are generally not athletic or have become sedentary due to working in front of a computer or sitting all day. This class will increase strength and flexibility in the body as well as allow the subtle energies contained in the nervous system to flow more freely. It is a gentle but flowing form of yoga that produces a low impact cardio workout.  I call the class - Gentle Flow. This class is much easier on the wrists and back then many other vinyasa style yoga classes.

I also teach a yoga class suitable for men.  It's a men's only class.  Sometimes men feel more comfortable in a class just for men.

Back Health - I have rehabilitated myself from 3 back injuries to the low, mid, and upper(neck) spine areas.  I know what it takes to beat back pain, and I can show you how!

One-on-one yoga training and Thai Yoga Body-work

I can compliment your Doctor or Physical Therapist to help you move beyond

back pain, eliminating the pain completely, most of the time.  Rates

are $65.00 per hour and amazing results can be had in a very short

amount of time(usually three sessions).  The first session is 1.5 hours

which I charge $65.00.         Contact: yogaforme2{at}gmail{dot}com.

"I am a woodworker.  After being on my feet all day my back would tighten up, by the end of the day even bending over would be difficult.  After practicing Gentle Flow yoga for a couple of months, my back no longer hurts at the end of each work day and my range of motion is improving."  -Dave Z.
